Sneaker Rewind: Finals Edition Adidas Team Commander KG

With the Finals starting tonight, we thought we'd take the way back machine to the year 2008. Adidas made this special make up of the Team Commander for KG to mark his trip to the finals. They released 8 pairs for each of the 7 games in the series. The shoes were available through and Celtics.com, nba.com and through the NBA Store in New York. The price tag was rather heavy, at $1017. The proceeds from the sale went to the NBA CARES charity, a well as some money went to fund local Boston organizations.
The medial side of the shoe, shown above, features the NBA finals trophy. On the other, we get a portrait of KG, which can be viewed after the jump.

Ebay seller LACEDHEAT put these rare beauties up for auction this week. These are a promo player exclusive pair of Rajon Rondo Nike Air Zoom MVP's form 2009. This is one of the first shoes Rondo wore when he made the leap from Reebok to Nike. This model is more likely liked to all star point guard Steve Nash. LACEDHEAT has several other player exclusive shoes available, but if you are interested in this pair they are currently still on auction HERE.

Sneaker Rewind: Paul Pierce Air Max Elite PE

Today we take a trip in the way back machine to the year 2002 to look at the Paul Pierce Air Max Elite PE. This pair recently hit Ebay and I was outbid. At least some one got these rare beauties. The shoe features top quality black leather uppers and has an early version of the P2 logo on the heel strap. Finally, the shoe features 3m accenting on the rear heal panel.

Garden Kicks

Last night I was lucky enough to go to Game 3 versus the Heat.  Boston sneakerheads showed up in droves.  I saw Rondo Hyperfuses, rare Jordans, and Pierce Sharkley PE's.  I also was able to see the Celtic's locker room displays that had some rare kicks.  They had Cousy's Chucks,  Bird's Cons and Shaq's Li Nings.  Check out the pics from the night.

Paul Pierce had a big game tonight in a new colorway of his signature Nike Air Legacy 2 sneakers.  The shoes features a predominant green patent upper with green suede accents on the toe cap.  The side panels are woven like the Lebron VI NFW.  The best part on the shoe is the white printed "TRUTH" on the lock down strap.

One of the bright spots from last nights loss was that Ray Allen rocked a new pair of Jordan Phase 23 Hoops PE's. These pictures taken from Nicekick.com show both the Home and Away colorways of the shoes. The Phase 23 features a fully encapsulated Air unit and Phylon midsole. The forefoot strap ensure a snug fit for those looking for extra support.The strap reminds me of vintage Agasssi shoes with the splattered paint accenting.
