Congratulations to Bill Rusell

Former Boston Celtics captain Bill Russell was presented with the 2010 Medal of Freedom by U.S. President Barack Obama during an East Room event at the White House February 15, 2011 in Washington, DC. The medal is the highest honor awarded to civilians. President Obama also mentioned the importance of creating a monument to Bill Russell in the city of Boston. I think a monument would be great near the Bobby Orr monument at the entrance of the Garden.

On today's edition of sneaker rewind, we look at Ray's Air Jordan XX3 (23) Titanium. Worn during the 2008 All Star game this shoe is a serious neck breaker. The AJ XX3 Titanium was a premium limted release to mark the final numbered Jordan shoe. A pair of these shoes fetch anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000 on the open market. Though the Celtic's did not "Beat LA" last night, Kevin Garnett did wear his Anta KG1 "Beat LA" signature shoes. This in my opinion is the best colorway of the shoe to date. It features a green suede upper. As for now the shoe is extremely limited and only available in the Chinese market.

Sneaker Rewind: 1998 Converse Larry Bird All Star Team Legend

Recently this pair of the Converse All Star Team Legends hit Ebay. This shoe is from 1998 and was the last Converse shoe to bear both Larry Bird's name and feature React cushioning. If you look on the front of the lateral side of there is a shamrock with the #33 sewn over it. Theses shoes are extremely rare with very few still in existence. I lost the bid on these by 50 cents. Enough for now, back to the hunt.
